    Experience Required

    Premier Fabrication is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Finance & Accounting team.  The Staff Accountant will work under the direction of the Administration Director to prepare, record, analyze, and maintain financial information for the company management and shareholders.  This involves maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying GAAP through analytical work and thorough review of financial records.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    • Assist the Finance Director with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Finance & Accounting Department, including budget review and analysis and audit preparation.
    • Perform Month-End Close procedures for the organization.
    • Prepare, file, analyze, and submit monthly Sale & Use Tax reports with the Dept. of Revenue.
    • Manage Fixed Asset accounting and reconcile depreciation general journal entries.
    • Perform the processing of expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, and recording of reclassification journal entries as needed.
    • Review, analyze, and proactively address job costing variances.
    • Review and reconcile cash accounts.
    • Review and process credit card expense reports and receipts submitted by cardholders monthly.
    • Reconcile General Ledger Accounts and analyze discrepancies.
    • Reconcile daily Cash inflow/outflow statements.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and the collections of Accounts Receivable.
    • Assist in IT Administration, as needed.

    Skills

    • Monitor and collect data to assess accuracy and integrity; analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards (GAAP), rules, regulations and systems of internal control; interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation, and create financial reports.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in fast paced and dynamic work environment.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel; experience with accounting/ERP software preferred
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail; ability to maintain accurate records of confidential data.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal supervision
    • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with other teams within the organization to reach a common goal.

    Experience/Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (will consider candidates with equivalent combination of training and experience)
    • 3+ years’ experience in finance/accounting role (preferably within the manufacturing industry)
    • Previous experience with Visual Manufacturing a plus, but not required

    Physical Demands

    Must be able to frequently stand, walk (including frequent use of stairs), sit, and use hands and arms to reach.  Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to in order to build complete and accurate estimates from prints.
    • Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site investigations to prepare estimates accurately
    • Read and understand contract documents (plans, specifications and addenda)
    • Perform digitized quantity take-offs and organize the quantities with unit pricing in production of an estimate
    • Calculate setup and run rates for resources, material costs and outsourced vendor costs.
    • Solicit bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, if applicable
    • Communicate and reinforce the company vision, values and goals

    Skills and Experience Requirements:

    • Must have a 2 year degree in a manufacturing/industrial/construction related field with 4 – 6 years previous experience
    • Manufacturing/Industrial estimating experience, 5 years required. Experience in a steel fabrication or similar industry is strongly desired.
    • Blueprint reading required, including weld symbols, tolerances, GD&T
    • Strong working knowledge using MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and internet research
    • Previous experience with Visual Manufacturing program is beneficial
    • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge about estimating processes and software
    • Must have technical ability to do electronic take-offs and use estimating software
    • Strong attention to detail and prioritization
    • Leadership capabilities to hire, train, develop and maintain a high performing estimating team

    Must have ability to accurately read prints and weld symbols with minimal direction.  Must be able to accurately position & weld work pieces using manual layout w/o a fixture.

    All candidates must be detail oriented and thorough with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.  Ability to work overtime as job requires.

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to stand & walk for extended periods of time daily.
    • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to climb, kneel, bend & stretch, regularly required.
    • Must have clear vision & hearing.
