And aren’t all manufacturing jobs being shipped overseas anyway? Several stereotypes and misconceptions have shaped public perception about manufacturing jobs over the years. Let’s get to the facts:
MYTH 1: Manufacturing Jobs are a Dead End
A job in manufacturing is only a dead end if you MAKE it a dead end. At Premier, an honest day’s hard work, and dedication to the company is a sure-fire recipe for success. Many employees have the opportunity to pursue a variety of career paths and work in various departments, giving them a well-rounded base for advancement and better of understanding of our business.
MYTH 2: Manufacturing Jobs are Being Shipped Overseas
Some manufacturing jobs are being outsourced. Premier focuses on high-skill, high-tech jobs that are best kept in the US. In fact, most experts predict a dramatic increase in the number of jobs available in the next 5-10 years.
MYTH 3: Manufacturing Jobs are Dirty, Boring, and Mundane
We pride ourselves in our work environment. Our 5S program focuses on keeping our facility clean and organized to keep work moving effectively. Most visitors to Premier comment on the cleanliness of the shop. We encourage our employees to practice 5S on a daily basis, and they have taken it to heart.

The expo exposes high school students to the variety of desirable high-tech jobs available in manufacturing. Each year, over a thousand students from Central Illinois tour local manufacturing facilities and gather at a central exhibit hall for hands-on demonstrations and presentations from key industry leaders.
