Cold Storage Facility

Premier recently won a 1400-ton structural steel bid for a refrigerated storage facility. Premier will provide structural steel for a 235,000-square-foot building. The contractor chose Premier because of competitive pricing and the ability to meet their lead times.

The project includes a demanding deadline. “We began modeling the building in TEKLA as soon as we got the RFQ” said Client Services Director Darrell Stoller. “We found a couple issues and asked good questions…ultimately, that’s how we won the bid.” The quick work from the Premier team gave the project a 2-week head start. The project’s Lead Detailer, Eric Ulrich, says “A job with this tight of a schedule is always a challenge. Thanks to everyone in the Detailing & Processing team here at Premier being engaged in the project, we were able to exceed the customer’s requirements.”

Hitting important deadlines is one of the ways Premier earns customers’ trust. Competitive pricing on bid day (along with transparency and honesty when pricing change orders) play a big role in developing the Right Relationships. Delivering this order on time and budget will put Premier in a good position to win future business with the contractor and the end customer. “When the project ends and our relationship with our customer is strengthened, we will know we have been successful” said Stoller.
