meet-dan-dorn-268x178WORK EXPERIENCE

I was working for a masonry company as a laborer before I joined Premier. As much as I enjoyed working outside, my true passion was working with steel. I started working at Premier in high school as a co-op student. After completing high school, I earned my Associate’s degree in Applied Science while still working part-time at Premier. During this time, I mainly worked in custom fabrication, but I was able to operate the service truck when needed, which allowed me to work outside again.

I received many opportunities to run about every machine in the shop, which gave me a wide array of experience and manufacturing knowledge. While working in fabrication, I took on the role of Safety Coordinator, which added to my overall understanding of the shop floor. I then worked as a programmer for our laser and plasma cutter before I moved to a production scheduling role. I am currently serving as Premier’s Plant Operations Manager, which blends my two passions: steel and fostering relationships with people.
